Eagle Optics and others have just dropped the price of the LX L's again. At this level, I had to pull the trigger on the 8x32's. Not the lightest one out there, but quite an image.

I'm very happy with mine. I would not want it any lighter. Acceptable, but more image shake than I like. Any lighter and it would be worse. While it's very nice to have the very best in image clarity, and I strongly suspect the 8X32 LX has this, it does you little good if the image is constantly bouncing around making it tough to see the fine details that make a big difference. That is a big price reduction. I was about ready to pull the trigger on a pair of Swaro SLC 8X30's. $1000 is the top of my budget and I like the feel of the Swaro. How does the LX compare in optical quality for any of you that own both?

Nikon has officially discontinued the LX-L line and there are deals to be had. Please feel free to call me if any of the LX-L's interest you

Doug, I was going to give you a call for the Swaro.......after checking out other models at local stores. How does the LX compare in optical quality? Unfortunately, I can't find a pair of the LX's locally so I haven't had a pair in my hands.

Check out betterviewdesired.com's review of the LX L. They have some Swaro SLC reviews, too, as I recall. Both are terrific binocs.

Some of my thinking revolved around grabbing the deal and letting the dollar strengthen (at some point) against other currencies. Could be a wait, but these are breathtaking prices these days. My Duovid's are now twice what I paid for them (on a sale) 2-3 years ago.

Are there any smokin' deals out there on the Premier 10x42's? Thanks.

Interesting question. I think the only fair way to answer it is to say that unless you have perfect vision you may not see any difference. The differences between the two will be much more subtle than the price difference would suggest.

Doug, not exactly the smokin' deal I was looking for in the 10x, but thanks anyway.
