It is basically being marketed in the slot as an alternative to the various 4350s on the market...

It sounds similar to IMRs new 4007?

Will have to give it a whirl in my '06. They've been needin' one between R-15 and R-19. If they hit the mark, the 4350's burn rate ought to be about right.

Yep.

Lots of good powders for the 06, never had one yet that shot poorly with either of the 4350s. But I have had some that liked RL-19 and IMR-4064 better. And I have started using alot of RL-22 in my 180 grain loads but when I see datat for theis new RL stuff, I will certainly read with interest ...tj3006...tj3006

Should be a good powder for my 300SAUM with 165's and the 25-284 with 85's. 80-90 grainers in the .243win might be worth a shot as well.
Now with even more aplomb

I've had far better luck with RL-15 than any of the 4350's in the 30-06. I also prefer it in the 7mm-08 and .375 H&H. I burn a lot of the stuff.

Sound like the perfect match for My 300 SAUM Sendero, RL 15 is tops with 125 and 150 grain bullets, RL 19 is good with 180 grain bullets but so far I have not had the match accuarcy with it that i can get with RL 15 and the lighter bullets. Have had good accuarcy with IMR 4350 but not as consistent and I hate wieghing every charge. With the lot of H4350 I have I get high pressure signs if I try to get good velocity. Could be perfect for the 260 Rem also. I find it interesting that thier web site says it is made in the U.S. as I think the other RL powders are made offshore,Sweden or Finland ?.

As Duckshoot mentions, I also like the fact that this new Re17 powder is being made in the US. Nothing wrong with Swedish, Canadian, Czech, or Australia made powders - I use plenty of them myself. However, having a USA made source for IMR 4350 burn rate powder means that "back-door ammo control" by a ban on importation would give me a choice (remember the surplus rifle parts re-importation ban a few years back). Don't know if I will switch off of what I am using, but another choice is good. Odessa

If you google Reloder 17 you will find data for a variety of cartridges. The stuff is made in Switzerland. New technology (never heard that one before) but the data makes it look like it has a burn rate of W-760, or H-414. The best 30:06 speeds I have seen without the use of a two foot long drop tube and a snipe on the end of the press handle. And while I have been known to post a gripe or two about published reloading data, I have found that ATK's reloading data the best among the powder companies. The .338 Winchester data looked good too. I can't see why .375 H&H loads with 300 grainers won't set new speed records as well.

It's origin is Switzerland and combines advanced technology for energy, temperature stability and vivacity. It is one of the most modern extruded powders available.
