The manufacturer states that these barrels must be fitted to the receiver for proper headspacing and are not interchangable between different receivers.

Is this lawyer talk or a valid concern?

I saw on another board a handi-rifle barrel for sale.

Grey Beard Outdoors has a forum just for Handi rifles. A lot of good info there including how to fit barrels.

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

yes, you should send yer receiver and forearm to nef for fitting. SOME guys on graybeard have the machine experience to buy nef barrels out of hand and get 'em to fit, but ...

I don't think that address is working right now. Try this one:

I did look up the info on greybeards.

It looks like it could be done but I am not into that kind of machining parts yet.

At least not where it concerns enclosing the breech.

I'll stick to minor filing uncritical parts like floorplate adjustments and winchester trigger adjustments.

Not all that rare... sometimes they come that way from the factory and need to be warranty repaired.

Barrels can be and are often swapped between receivers but mating perfectly to the new one without some fitting is fairly unusual... luck of the draw. Correcting a slight mismatch isn't all that hard to do though.

There's a wealth of info regarding most aspects of everything related to these arms HERE:
