Hello all:

Well, after buying my first AR 15 a year ago ( Bushmaster ORC), I fell in love with the AR platform and am going to start building another AR. Today, I bought my brand new Stag stripped lower at a gun show to get the ball rolling. Now, I want to get the lower parts kit. I want just a standard, non 2 stage trigger lower kit. Since I have never assembled one before, which brand will fit the best without any "tinkering" and "grinding" on the parts. Never done it before, I want this to be simple. I have hung around here long enough to know you guys will head me in the right direction. Thanks so much, Rich.

ALSO: What is the best source for AR parts as far as price and availability???

If you just want a standard trigger then the DPMS parts kit are fine and can be had cheap. Got one for $47 a few months ago on Midway. If you want a little better quality (not that there is anything wrong with DPMS) you can get a Rock River parts from ColemanTyler for $68.

Installing the lower parts kits is pretty easy. Just be careful with the trigger guard and I use masking tape to keep from marring the finish when installing the roll pins.

Yep, a pin or punch can slip a bit, personally I don't care if I slip, its a tool, not a show car.

As to parts brands, any of the name brand ones generally work fine. Others like model 1 etc... that are cheap... one has to wonder were the 2nds are sold from, but I know more than a few folks running stuff like that, with zero issues.
