I have a Jap. repro 1886 Win. feather weight in 45/70. Worked up a fine load, put on an Ashley blade front and old steel Lyman adjustable on the receiver. Great set up right? And may I add, I just love the rig to death. Hmmmmm at 63 it is kind of tough to pick a path between the trees for 70 yards in poor light and irons. Mentally I am more confident with a glass sight and shot my moose with my .338 instead to my regret in a way. However in the limited time there I refused to pass up any opportunities. Is there any after market outfit that produces scout type mounts for the 1886 Win. utilizing the rear sight barrel slot? Thanks for your suggestions and time.
