Does anyone know or could they compare a Redfield Jr. and regular Redfield single piece mount to see if the hole configurations are the same? Still having trouble with mine setting secularly on my set up on the T shooter. Mine was first set up on a Jr. mount which got lost in my last move and now I have it on a regular single piece Redfield mount and the front mount is not setting down firmly on the front part of the receiver

They should be the same.
I see your talking about a model T which was never factory D&T'd so I'd hazard a guess that it was done poorly and thats why your having such a problem.

Redfield also made two different JR mounts. One fits the post-war factory D&T, and the other doesn't. that could be your problem.

"Still having trouble with mine setting secularly on my set up on the T shooter." CR It may be that you are expecting the mount to be religiously fast and SECURE when it simply can not be so! But MD may be right, the receiver boss is supposed to be a very hard piece of metal according to some gunsmiths I've spoken with about the reason for such poor workmanship of non factory D/T jobs. Hope you find a means of SECURING that scope properly.

Would the hole spaceing on a redfield be the same as a weaver type mount so I could consider trying that? I know I would have to have a additional hole put in for the back mount.

If the 4 holes were drilled in the correct spots, a Redfield, a 1 pc. Leupold or Weavers mounts should fit. The hole spacing should be universal, if properly done.

Brownell's sells blank weaver bases for 'smiths to contour and D&T as required to fit non-standard existing holes. Some of the other makers make blank bases also.

There were some old Savage 99 one piece bases that has different hole spaceings. The holes on the base were on either side of the front ring opening!

All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

What is the hole spacing on the receiver ring? Should be 1/2" for the newer style Refield. The old one being referenced was wider on the ring.
Problem with converting to Weavers is you may only have 1 rear hole if it was drilled for the Redfield.
