I've finally finished putting my 375 family together!
First is a CZ550 Safari classic.
I had it punched out to 375AI, while my gunsmith was doing this,
I worked on the stock, I stripped all the old finish off and put a
oil finish on it. I also pillar beded it and installed an aluminum
rod in the pistol grip up thru the wrist, I added ebony fore end
and grip cap. I put flush mount sling swivels on it.
It's wearing a Kahles 3.5x10 scope

Second is a Ruger 375 Alaskan which I had a McMillan stock put on
This is the stock that I sent the barreled action to McMillan so
they could use it for a pattern. Rick and Terah arranged all this and boy they do a good job!!!
It's wearing a 3x9 Zeiss.
Third is a Win 70 S/S classic. It also has a pillar bedded
McMillan stock
It has a a 24" Kreiger barrel and has been trued and the lugs lapped , It has NECG sights on it. and a Talley barrel band
It's wearing a Sworvski 1.3x6 PH scope.
Thanks for looking and if anybody needs more photos of the Ruger stock I will post more
Charlie

Hello All
Mack that CZ really has nice wood and a good looking finish on it though my preference would run to the M 70 SS.

Those all look great. What's the pattern on those two McMillan stocks, especially the Ruger? Is that the Ruger Hunter stock?

Good job.

Nice collection. Nice work on wood.

That is a beautiful piece of walnut on the CZ! A very nice finish, not too glossy but it still brings out the figure in the wood. Great work!

To answer everybody's questions...
First to Ray, I'm not sure how to take your comment.
I will never try to refinish a CZ again, I am not sure what they use as a finish but I thought I was going to run out of wood before
I got it off.
I used a finish procedure that gunsmith Bill Soverns over on AR
posted a couple of years ago, it takes a while to get it done, plus several trail and error and redo several steps over and over.
But was fun and the end was worth the effort.
The win70 has a classic stock, and Ruger has a Hunter stock.
As to which is my favotite it is the Mod70.
I lucked out on the Winney, I was at the local Sportsman Warehouse and was talking to the gun manager while he was looking
for a gun for someone in the backroom when I saw the box and asked him what's in there? We opened the box and there it was.
This was 6 months after Win went belly up, he had no idea it was
back there. So with a list price of $689 and my gun purchase discount of 20% I walked out of the door one pretty happy gun nut.
The Ruger mounts to the shoulder quicker than any rifle I ever handled.
The CZ runs 200 gr GS Custom HV pills @ 3350 fps and 270 gr TSX
at 2810 fps (ohler chrony) So it's going to be hard to pick which rifle gets to go out for a walk.
My goto rifle is a Sako 300 RUM and it will be hard to leave it in the safe as it is a simply amazing rifle.

Those are some pretty rifles. You should call one "nice weather day" and the other "bad weather day"...
