Eremicus. Blind mag or floorplate? Also what action did you start out with, military or commercial, new action or used? Did you consider Talley Lightweights or are you set on dual dovetails, which I don't think are a bad choice either. Sounds like a great blueprint.

Steel FP & TG. Don't know exactly which Mauser he's using. I simply specified one with at least modern steels and heat treating. He will lighten the action as he has done many times. We don't need to go to the lightweight Talleys. Hence the DD's. If I were to specify something in the 6 lb. range, then we would. Yes, two position, not three position. E

Every intelligent shooter always comes full circle to the Mauser or M-70! Every intelligent shooter and hunter always comes full circle to the 30-06 Most intelligent shooters and hunters always come full circle to wood stocks and Leupold scopes.

Guess I am getting there, I just sent off my G33 for a new tube, 06 Improved again.....that's Dober talk for the .270 And I am running a very fine stick of African Walnut via Brown and am ordering a new McMilly this week. Although I do have a wonderful stick sitting in the corner of French for the lil G33 for when I settle down a tish bit. I am about to hit mid life (50 in Nov) so I've got time....<g> Hope all is well in your camp there Ray! Dober

Well, uh... come to think of it, I did have my "BSS" and Rick did have is well adjusted 700 Remington. Well... when he started talking to Charlie Sisk, that's when both of us got really bad. E

When you more experienced "wood addicts" learn how to make a Mesquite stock weigh about 18-20 ozs. with accessories, I'll have her done in it. E
