Eight year ago when he republicans gained control of the house and senate there ws talk of doing away with thr Dep of Education. Today,I see the republicans supporting increased spending in the department to a tune of 11%.I think this shows the pressure on the president to increase involvement of the government in our schools. I was hoping the majority of people would have wanted this involvement lessened. This would give us tax relief so we can pass our local millages of which we have much more control over. I can`t read the american public. They say they want less government involvement,but pressure the parties to increase it. Am I looking at this wrong. <P><BR>
