went to go work up a couple loads w/hodgdon's data, 286gr. min. 64gr. max 67gr. yeah, ummm no workie workie! grafs brass 64 gr. comes half way up the case neck, and the bullet won't seat not even close. 67gr. wont even fit in the case. i called hodgdon and they said the data is spot on w/ norma cases, and i should just fill to the bottom of the case neck and call it good. what? i asked if maybey the data was off by 10gr. or can i really stuff more powder into an .06 size case than into a .338. the guy told me sure, why not? i didn't bother to try to explain it to him. now i may be wrong but i haven't ran into case capacity differences of 10gr. before, 2-3 gr. maybey. i did load up 54gr. w/only slight powder shake... so what to do? load up the min. and file class action, that's nor really me, but if the data is wrong their's no one to tell. would like to try the 4350 though!
let me give you boys a lil' tip. you might wanna turn off that engine 'fore you go and change that there fan belt!

I believe H4350 is too slow for the application. The references I have all point toward something like N135/140, IMR3031/4895/4320/4064, Varget or Reloder 15 being the optimal choice.

with a drop tube and fire-formed Lapua cases, I find ~61 grains of medium grained powder like 4064 is the most you can get in and seat a bullet.
Does anyone have the weights of Grafs, Lapua, and Norma 9.3x62 cases?

My Lapua cases weight from 188.7 to 189.5 grains. 64 grains of RL15 is also somewhat compressed. In my CZ550 the best powders I have found are RL15, Varget, and Ramshot BigGame.

grafs brass weighs 197.4-199.7 trimmed, not deburred. so how much 4350 fits into lapua or norma casses i wonder? maybey thats the $60 difference. still hard to belive 10gr. case capacity difference, maybey so. if i close my eyes i will not see it.

i wondered why no other load manuals listed 4350. thanks Load data is like that. They'll list a lot of powders that "will work". But not all will give the best performance, and only, maybe a 1/4 are in that "optimum range" that will give you 90%+ case fill, with max safe velocities, and safe pressures. And of course, there's differeing brass capacities too.
