That stock along with that barrel makes for an absolutely stunning combo. Can you tell me more about the barrel?

In a nut shell. Back in the day German gunsmiths made these barrels for custom rifles. The term used to describe them is guild guns. It's all one piece of steel from the front to the back. All parts are integral. Every now and then somebody will pull one off a Mauser so they can install the latest whizbang cartridge. When they do, I'm all over it!
A barrel like that would cost about $1800-$2000 to duplicate today and that's before engraving. The only down side is most where chambered in an 8mm of some sort and they all seem to need to be re-bored when you get them. So, a .338, .358 and .366 are the logical next step up for them. I did however find a very petite one earlier this year. It's in 6mm now. I'm going to have it punched out to 6.5 and do a 6.5X284 with it. It's going to be my "beanfield guild gun"
