If you have not purchased a habitat stamp you won't be sent one until you do...

All I got yesteday was my antelope tag. Not complaining, as its for Kiowa Ranch, but am sure hoping for another RFW elk tag...

We bought habitat stamps when we sent in, they came right away.... Might have wasted it, but generally takes zero points to draw what I'm after anyway. Haven't looked at the web yet, too much going on, probably just wait. Maybe it'll be here next week.

I got mine but my friend that lives in AK hasn't got his yet. It may take a few more days for everyone's to show up. this kind of takes the suspence out of the drawing that will be held on Tuesday. wink

Their website is not up-to-date. I just got my elk tag in the mail, but the website doesn't show it yet.

I got mine in the mail, but it wasn't the one I wanted. Put in for unit 61 resident bull tag with 10 points, now I have 11.

I drew that unit with 7 points in 2005. I guess demand is increasing.

Got my elk tag! Unit 741 any elk. Might buy an OTC cow tag once I get there, too.

This will be my first out of state hunt. Yay!

Jeff,

Back in the 80s I was hunting every year in Colorado with a group of locals, and we finally made sure we paired up guys with one of each sex of tag to get past the demon that kept sending bulls past cow tag holders and vice versa.

If you can get a cow tag over the counter that is cool. Make sure to buy before the first day of the season...jim

Jim, I'd say I was the world's unluckiest guy as far as sheer quantity of elk- that I didn't have a tag for- that I've had to let walk... except I personally know a guy who's way ahead of me <G>. And I'm sure there are many others.

If I'm understanding this tag right, it's an "any elk" tag. If the ranch owner tells me they are seeing lots of elk right before the season starts (they are on a migratory route- I think) then I'll buy a cow tag too, just to make that opening-day cow a no brainer instead of something to agonize over.

(that's IF I can afford another elk tag. This down real estate market is killin' me, plus the price of gas to get down there in October will likely be obscene)

Ya got that right!!! Last fall when we were planning this years trip I figured $4.00 a gallon would cover it, gas was under $3.00. Now I'm wondering if a five spot will cover a gallon. Our trip is 1500 miles one-way at 15MPG.

Still got to pick up a bull tag when we cross the border.
