just bought a 629 from sbshooter and ready to load. lookin for a powder for both 44 and 38, could be 357. 200gr jhp in 44 and 125gr. jhp in the 38 or 158 in357. the hp38 will work for 44/38 but is it dirty? shootin 3 gr. bullsey is like black powder, turns the gun black but its realy accurate. just lookin for something cleaner, mediume loads. any idea what's pretty clean. thanks
let me give you boys a lil' tip. you might wanna turn off that engine 'fore you go and change that there fan belt!

HP-38 should work fine, as will 231, or, perhaps more useful, Universal Clays, which is really good for such purposes.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

I'll second the Universal Clays. It is the cleanest burning of any handgun powder I have tried
