I am looking for 1 or 2 hunters for a PRIVATE land Antelope hunt around the Gillette, Wy area in unit 17. The cost for one hunter is $700 (excluding tag) and for 2 hunters is $525 each (excluding tag). Tag cost is $268. This hunt does not include any food or lodging. We can split the rest of the costs amongst the group such as lodging, food, gas, car, etc. If you have a camper, I am pretty sure we can probably park it on the property for no cost.

I have checked the WY DNR website and there are still 300+ tags left for the unit. I have been there several times, so I am familiar with the area. This is not a TROPHY area in general, but there are alot of antelopes (representative) to choose from in the 12"-14" range with good mass but there has been a 16" taken by one of my guys a couple of years ago. I was there last year with my son and he took a nice 14" with good mass and ivory tips which I rough scored around 75" and the one was also a nice 13" taken. Takes 67 to make Pope and young and 82" to make B & C. Have pictures and references available upon request. You may contact me at bow777hotmail.com for further info. I am not an outfitter, just someone who has access to some quality lope hunting at a cheap price. I guarantee 100% oppty at an antelope 12" or better.

BOW777 and myself went on this hunt in 2003 and I scored on a 13" lope on the first day. There were TONS of antelope there, and it should NOT be a problem to score on a nice one.... BOW777 is a straight shooter.

The property is some 3,500 acres bordered by additional thousand of additional private lands that adjoin the property.

The Antelope season dates are October 1-30th, but looking at the calender, I think that being there on the 3rd of October and departing on the 5th or 6th is what I am currently looking at.

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I would probably take you up on it if I hadn't drawn unit 47.

For those interested, here is some more info on the left-over tags. This information is directly from the hunting WY dnr website which is:

http://gf.state.wy.us/wildlife/hunting/index.asp

I am pretty sure that there will still be some available tags left even after the draw, but I cant really say for sure.

2008 Left Over Licenses

Links to leftover license lists by species and area follow below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
All applications are processed in the same manner, whether hand delivered to the Cheyenne office or submitted through the mail or online. We encourage you to apply online, starting July 10th. Both residents and nonresidents may apply for leftover deer, antelope, elk licenses between July 10th and July 21st, 2008 with a combined draw tentatively scheduled for July 31st for nonresidents and residents who submit applications.

Residents may submit personal checks with paper applications; nonresidents must submit cashier checks or money orders for leftover licenses. WE DO NOT ACCEPT TWO PARTY CHECKS, including your Wyoming Game & Fish application refund checks.

With antelope the earlier the better if there are other hunters using the property.... Otherwise those long range cannons are handy...... grin

Good luck Bow777, I bet it'll be a hoot....
