I have not bowhunted for the past few years; killed my last buck with a Browning Cobra, old-style compound. I like the old Cobra, particularly its light weight of only 2.2 lbs. I'm considering upgrading...buying a whole new outfit. Question: Is there a modern bow that comes anywhere near that 2.2 lbs. of my Cobra?
Thanks, GPA

I can't think of any right off hand - latest trends have been to longer risers and shorter limbs. This trend has reversed the light bow trend. Most of the short new bows will come in at 3.5 -4 pounds. Even if they are a bit heavier, you should try them, the bow mfg's have made some good strides in smooth, quiet recoil free bows in the last few years.

Depends on how big you are, to some degree. If your draw length is short you could go with a "short draw" bow and come in under 3. Pearson Pathfinder, for example, is 2.7 (I think).

You're in for a BIG surprise.
Todays bows are heavier, but worth the extra weight.
Anything built since Y2K is gonna be pretty fast, and you can definately count on bows newer than that.
If you shoot with a release, anything from Hoyt/Matthews/Bowtech/Martin will work just fine.
