Are you talking about the .22lr conversion unit for the 1911? If so, then I give it my hearty endorsement.

I've got the "complete" Kimber 1911-22lr pistol, and LOVE it! I've also got a Kimber Tatical .45 Could have got the "kit" but had an excuse for a new gun! Buy it! You won't regret it. Virgil B.

First, let me say, that if you can get a 1911 .22 conversion running without feeding problems, you can't have much more fun with your clothes on.
A guy I shoot with got one of the Kimber .22s (the whole pistol, not the conversion unit) -- he was having nothing but problems with it. Sent it back to Kimber for warranty work -- not much change. Haven't seen him recently, so don't know if problem was resolve.
I have a Marvel (tactical -- like Ciener unit) that drove me absolutely crazy. It was mounted on a Colt Delta Elite bottom unit. It would run smoothly with Stingers, but the cost of Stingers defeated the purpose. I changed hammer springs, and tried different ammo -- no luck. Read somewhere that Kimber mags solved feeding probs. Bought the Kimber mag and tried some of the Wal Mart Bulk Remington 22s. It is now totally reliable. The Wal Mart Federal bulk 22s don't work consistently.
To sum up what I'm trying to say is that once you get the kinks worked out, you will have a fun filled package. Just don't expect to take an "off the shelf" .22 Kimber and feed it just any old ammo and expect it to function perfectly. It's a trial and error process to figure out what ammo will work with your gun. Once you you find ammo that works in your gun, buy as much of that specific lot that you can afford.
I put 210 rounds thru the Marvel/Colt .22 this afternoon without a hitch -- had a blast.
FWIW,
Paul

One of my shooting buddies has the Kimber .22lr 1911 (not the conversion - the whole gun). I've shot it some, and it is sweet (and accurate). He hasn't had any problems with it that I know of and it runs perfectly as far as I've seen. It's a fine looking gun, too.
IIRC - it did not hold the slide open after the last shot (neither do most conversions), and that is the only thing I wouldn't like about it.

Mine will run flawlessly (sp?) on American Eagle, and W-W PowerPoints. Haven't tried much else. Virgil B.

At the range today, I ran into the guy (mentioned above) who was having problems with his Kimber. He said it is working just fine now.

Very tempted to get one for my Colt Combat Elite.
