No.
The shoulder angles and the case diameter at the shoulder are quite different . Lee carries dies for the 30 Rem.
"Cartridges of the World'' is a nice reference to have handy. When your working with older cartrides.

Yes you can. I do it a lot. Just full length size until the shoulder touches, watch the side of the neck as you screw the die down. It will chamber ok. Other than that it is a 30/30. These old Remingtons are beautiful guns and should be shot. Good Luck1

I would respectfully disagree with your recommendation to use 30-30 dies to reload the 30 Rem, given that Lee 30 Rem dies are both easily available and inexpensive. 30 Rem brass is expensive, so it seems like good economy, and a potential safety issue, to buy the correct dies for the cartridge that you're going to load. If dies weren't available, that would be another issue and jury-rigging an alternative would be a reasonable alternative IF done by an experienced reloader.

liveoak: Ignore the "safety" input. What you will be doing with the 30/30 die is necksizing a once fired case. In time the brass may not chamber easily, but no danger is involved. Rem260: If you have actual information on the safety of this, please share it. Don't just try to alarm people. Good Luck!

Anytime that you jury rig something, there are potential safety issue involved. The case dimensions are enough different and the dies are easily available, so why take a chance? The only strong action rifle in 30 Rem would be a Model 30 Rem. Since neither the 8/81 or 14/141 actions offers a lot of mechanical advantage to chamber and/or extract oversized cases, why wouldn't you want to full length resize them when you reloaded them? Levers, pumps, and semi-autos are the reason that small base dies are made.

Rem260; Before you vent again read the mans question. "Can you load 30 remingtons in 30/30 dies". The answer is Yes.

I didn't vent. I just pointed out the false economy and potential problems when you use the wrong tool. Think about how many people booger the head of gun screws by using the wrong tool. You get false economy, you'll probably incur the cost of replacing the screws, and you may incur problems such as screws being boogered so badly that they must be drilled out. It is called "extending the conversation", since the person asking the question may not understand the downstream impact of something that he "can" do. If you know that there is the potential for problems, I think that you are morally obligated to extend the conversation.

I have visited the Lee Precision website...and found NO dies listed in 30 Remington. Are they to be found elsewhere?

Man this brings back memories, my first deer rifle was a Model 94 chambered in 30 Remington. I've got an old Remington Auto loader in 30 Remington that is headstamped 30-30 Rem , that must be the 30 Rem.

When I had one, the only dies I could find were RCBS, IIRC. Don't forget to order the shellholder, since it doesn't match any other!
