I've got it milled and the first hole through to the firing pin channel drilled. But man, that last hole for the spring. I got in about an eighth and Bam. Don't know what I hit that's different, but the drills won't drill it. Tried three different drill bits and none will touch it. I'm looking for the right end mill now. Anyone have one? 2.5mm is a tad oversize. 7/64th's a tad under, 1/8th a tad over. Takes a number 37, .104 drill bit.

You will probably need a carbide drill or end mill.

Been looking on eBay. Found 7/64th. 5 for 25.00 Carbide ends, seems fair.

I use solid carbide #38 drills from MSC. Don't force it and just put a little pressure on the quill. If you brake one in there you will have to get it burned out.

I use all carbide on the newer Rem 7oo actions. The steel is really full of crap. I`ve slab sided and put windows in more than a few, to lighten the actions. Always hit hard spots, that make an endmill sing.
