santeerangerman,
If you get your eye centered on the scope so as to eliminate all of the parallax error then you would be left with a slightly out of focus image of the deer at the 230 yard range which is not likely to affect your shot. The bullet's point of impact will be right were the scope crosshairs are placed only if the deer is at your sighted in distance of 100 yards. However, since the deer is currently at 230 yards, the bullet's point of impact at 230 yards will be slightly below the point of aim by whatever distance the bullet drops going from 100 to 230 yards. This bullet drop occurs regardless of whether the image is focused at 100 yards or 230 yards and is independent of the line if sight. Remember the bullet travels in an arc, while your line of sight is a straight line.
