Floundered across something today that I honestly had never considered when they were in production.
Remington XP-100 factory original in 7mm BR Remington.

Now in my little world they were always fairly rare birds but in todays market..????

Give me some idea if you can guys as to what I should throw at the seller...300.00? 500.00? Blank checks?

Might kin get a little higher than 500 if the seller has any brains.

Had one years ago rechambered to 7/08.

One hellava IHMSA unlimited gun.

Throw $300 at him. Once he's on the floor, revive him with a better offer.

Nice XPs go for $550 to $750.

I thought that maybe in a year I'd throw some money at a XP-100 in .221 Fireball. They still seem reasonable.

BTW: Anybody know why the Fireball designation? According to the Internet, it seems when the XP-100 first came out in .221 the powders available were real slow and a lot of unused powder blew out of the 10" barrel. Once the hot power hit the air with the oxygen the unused powder ignited into a fireball. They say it looked like a bomb going off. Not as apt to see it today with today's powder.
