I have a Ruger 77 Mk 2 stainless I'm trying to darken the metal and make it less shiney. Has anyone tried acid eching? I tried a scocth brite pad but it's still brite and lite. I was thinking maybe bead blasting but will that darken it any. I am loking for a medium to dark gray color.
Thanks Hooker

Have you considered one of the new baked on epoxy finishes. A nice matte black finish and you action will be glass smooth as well.
