I was at a gun show some time ago looking at a used model 39A. It was pretty rough so I didn't buy it, but I did notice that the wood on the stock was much darker than the forearm. I just figured that someone tried to refinish it and did a poor job.
Yesterday I was at Gander Mountain looking at a new model 39A and again the stock was darker than the forearm. Not as much, but enough to be noticeable. Is this something that is common in the model 39A or just a coincidence? I really like the gun otherwise.
Must be a coincidence...I just bought one at Gander a couple of weeks ago and I would have to say, the wood was about equal front and back.
