Winchester 70 Fwt in a McMillan Fwt pattern. One of the "Winlight" rifles would be great if you don't mind blued/pushfeed. I went SS Classic in the afore mentioned configuration and it's my "Something's gonna die" rifle.
I can walk on water.......................but I do stagger a bit on alcohol.

I don't think you need to "worry" about a McMillan stock.
If you have any skill at all, an off the shelf Savage, Rem or Win will serve you fine.
The rifle itself is a very small (maybe five percent?) part of the equation.
Worry less about the gun and more about learning how to hunt.

I'd take the Classic stainless with the Edge stock.
BTW,350 yards is a chip shot for the 270 win.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Rusty, I think you can do this for less than a 1K if you have some time. I have put together 5 bolt rigs in the 7 years. Two Brownings, One FN, 2 Rugers, 3 have non-factory wood stocks and 2 have Edge stocks. All had some trigger work or triggers replaced. Two I reblued. Three were stainless. All but one wears Vari-X III glass. All shot 1.5 or better with factory ammo and 1 or better handloads. My average cost was $800 including the glass. One did go a little over $1200 including the glass.

Remington SPS Stainless in a TI stock w/talley lightweight rings and a 2.5-8X36 Leupold. You'll be under 7.5lbs. Or get a winchester featherweight in 270, I don't know exactly what they weigh but I figure a little over 8#'s set up the same way.

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Yes, an ADL is a blind magazine.

You can make a BDL an ADL, so easy a caveman can do it..

rusty75,
As others have stated, there are stainless ADL's and the conversion from BDL to ADL is easy enough. Please be forewarned that if you go from a BDL to an ADL that you will need to replace the BDL mag box with an ADL mag box. I recently had a problem with an ADL that was "sticky" when feeding. It turned out that it had a BDL mag box in it which is slightly shorter than the ADL mag box. Once I discovered that and changed the mag box, the sticky feeding was resolved.
I have a Remington 700 XCR in .270 that came from Hill Country as one of their Harvester rifles. I think it's about the ultimate .270 for whitetails.
Good luck!

For me, it would have to be a 30X270 Winchester, or nothing at all.

Remington SPS stainless, 4.5x14 Leupold AO Talley lights, Ti stock should put you right at the limit with a bottle or two of Mil-tec. I love my 270 cept is ends in AI and shoots .284 diameter bullets

ADL box, it is a tad deeper than the BDL box. Don't cost much.

Oh, and a trigger guard.
You could probably trade your BDL stuff for ADL.
