I have had very good results in several different rifles using 73-75 grains of H4831sc, WW brass and WW Magnum primers.
Out of my 26-inch barrel, the max load of 75 grains, runs right about 3,025 avg. fps. I consider this a max load for this rifle and is very accurate. As always, work up slowly...

I found 71 grains of RL-22 accurate with a .040 jump. Three round groups I can hide with a dime (Krieger barrel.)

I am having really good results with 75grs of R-22 and 180gr TSX's. Super accurate and going 3150fps from my rifle (26" barrel)

I liked RL-22 and H4831SC. RL-22 was 75 gr, and H4831 was 77 grains. Both did well, but I found I didn't need the extra weight for the moose I was shooting, and the shots were tending to be a little longish, so I dropped back to 168 TSX. RL-22 works good for that one too.

Shootist and David,
Have you seen the new load data in Barnes #4 that shows the max load at 73 grains for RL-22. I was also shooting RL-22 above this max. I am reworking up some loads closer to the max.

I find 76 gr works great in my winnie w/180 Afr and 180 PPT's. Also both Nosler and Hornady list 76gr as max for the 180 gr. and Speer shows 77gr max. My Barnes shows 76 gr max as well.
Just my $0.02. Load up as usual.

My 300 Win Mag loves the Barnes 180 TSX using RL22. This barrel like 72.5 grains in Winchester cases and the Federal 210 primer. It is a 25" barrel and the velocity is averaging 3040 fps at the muzzle. I have the bullets seated 0.020" off the lands. With this load I have put 6 bullets (two groups of three shots each) into 2.98" at 500 yards and on my last outing I shot a 1.2" group of 3 shots at 250 yards using my main crosshair of my Leupold 3.5-10 with the Boone and Crockett Reticle then I fired another 3 shots at 500 yards using my 500 yard aim point and that group measured 2.6". All six shots were in a 2.7" group. Rufous.
