Anyone used these stocks? Any idea of quality?

www.gunstocksinc.com/web_pages/Plate-pics/Stevens-stocks/Rifle-stocks.htm

I want to replace the stock on an old 1899A 303 that seems to be worth saving.

Regards,
Mick

I'll be watching to see the answers here. The stock "looks" lovely. I have been told that they are a real bit#* to fit to the Savage receiver. Good luck Mick.

I bought one for my 1899B and it was too small. The Butt Plate was longer than the wood. The guy gave me a hard time about returning it. Then when I did return it he claimed it was damaged in shipping so he would not refund my money.

I would not recommend him!

I've bought two of them and was pleased with both of them. I admit I didn't install them. Out of my pay grade... I had a gunsmith install them.

I bought one and as it has already been said there is a lot of extra wood, a WHOLE lot. Also the barrel channel was cut off center and diagonally across the fore arm . My Dad who is somewhat of a gunsmith and has done many stocks worked a ton of hours and finally got it to fit very well. It looks great now that it's done but every the subject comes up he say he will kick my #&* if I ever bring another to him. I'll never buy another one

Well, I guess the only question that I have is....are there any others available which are easier to install? Dave

Hate to see the man go out of business but my experience was not favorable as well. He really needs to raise his quality. frown
