Don't forget that the Bush v. Gore and Bush v. Kerry debates were predicted to amount to the great intellectuals (Kerry and Gore) jamming a handle in GW's back and mopping the floor with him.

Palin isn't an idiot, and Biden is no Einstein. The problem Palin seems to be having is that she needs to stick tightly to McCain's script, and she (like many conservatives) doesn't really agree with him on all that many things. This is where DC experience helps a candidate; the old hands have no problem saying stuff that completely contradicts the stuff they said yesterday--and then contradicting themselves again tomorrow. And doing it all with the utmost sincerity.

Good points. But do you think Palin will be able to answer hard questions in a debate setting?

The idea of a script or talking points really bothers me. our leaders should be able to thing with out a "Script"
