I have a Remington 511 from 1947 that has a loose bolt handle that wiggles a tad in the bolt body. It works fine but bothers me anyhow. Any fixers out there?

I have a 510P of similar vintage in front of me. The bolt handle is loose also. I put Crazy Glue around the bolt handle several years ago. It came loose yesterday. I think I will just stake it with a punch. I did one several years ago that is still good. Just get someone to hold it on an anvil and punch it on the bottom. I love these old .22's, very accurate and quiet with the long barrels.

If you look at the underside of the bolt handle you will see a pin, you need to re-strake the pin with a punch. Just get the handle in the correct position and giver her a god rap, might take a few to tighten it back up. This is a very common issue with the 5 teen series guns and a quick fix.

I just checked, you're right. I'm blind as a bat! The earlier one I staked I actually punched right by the pin, thus pinching it tight. I just did the other, about 3 good raps with a 24oz. ball peen.
