I am putting a Weaver K2.5 scope on my 1894 after the action job is done. I know it isn't traditional (I already have my levers without scopes). My question is do the plug screws on the receiver fit the holes in the barrel if I remove the front sight? Has anyone done this and how bizzare does it look on a lever? This is going to be my close range whitetail gun. Thanks!

Yup, they fit, Just dont lose the other 2. (I did)
I take them both (front & rear) off if I'm putting a scope on.
The way I see it, I'm already ruining the looks by putting a scope on it anyway, so who cares. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Also I found that, depending on the scope, sometimes I can see the front sight in the scope & that bothered me.
