Does anyone else feel like a survivor from the shipwreck 'U.S.S. Marlin', scrambling to find a lifeboat? Oh well, I made it. I'm registering on the three main forums that everyone seems to be going to, so I can talk to everyone I already know so well. I got to know so many people from MT over the past year, it kinda sucks to just be cut off from everyone like that.

I had to spell my name wrong (dropped the 'e' from 'Squirrelsaurus') to make it short enough to fit the requirement so I could register here, but anyway, I survived the shipwreck. So let's get back to talkin' 'bout guns!

I've also been a regular poster on the Mini-14 board at http://perfectunion.com/ if anyone is interested. They have a lot of different forums to check out.

Hey Squirly:

I just changed the limits for usernames. Go to My Home, Edit Personal Info, add that letter and submit it. I'll approve the name change.

It's approved.

Go forth and multiply.

Squirrelsaurus Rex,

Glad to see you here!

So how about a trivia question with a generic propellor beanie for the first correct answer?

NebrHogger,

I was wondering if you'd show up. I'm not too keen on the 'trivia question' thing anymore, for a couple of reasons. The last one didn't go so well, when someone got mad about not having the correct answer, and I had to go on the defensive. Kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. That's when the bickering finally got to be too much even for me, and I wasn't on the forum at all for the last month before they shut it down. Nothing personal against anyone in particular, I just got tired of the whole thing (although it was generally a good forum and I'm sad to see it go). I spent four or five months racking my brain and investing my time to post those questions, and it kinda wore me out and didn't end well. The other reason is time. I spent too much time on the computer as it was, on MarlinTalk every day. The time necessary to do research on those historical trivia questions got to be a heavy burden, more than I thought it would when I first started doing it. The more questions I posted, the more I had to dig to come up with new questions. Besides, after a while a bunch of people jumped on the 'trivia question bandwagon' and started posting trivia questions of their own, so I figured no one would miss it if I stopped. And I was right, no one did.

Anyway, I spent too much time on MarlinTalk before, now there's three new forums with MarlinTalk vets. So now I'm spending three times as much time on the computer, to talk with everyone that survived the shipwreck. Aaaggghhhh! It's getting worse!

Doesn't it suck that Marlin scuttled their own ship like that? I guess it's understandable, all things considered. But it still sucks.
