Just acquired a very nice Model 1910 takedown Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 9.5x57mm, aka: .375 Nitro Express Rimless, and am seeking load info from those who may use this round/rifle.
Most likely will form brass from 9.3x57mm cases.
Any information is greatly appreciated, thanks to all.

This is from either Rifle or Handloader approx 20 yrs ago. (Sorry, my photocopy cut off the issue date and I don't have time to search the stack of back issues).

270 Gr bullet
3031 - 44gr - 2150
45 - 2250
IMR4895 -47.5 - 2250

235 gr bullet
3031 - 47.5- 2400
4895 - 49.5- 2400

The rifle in the article was marked "Cordite 43 - 270 MAX".
So using the RL15 conversion for cordite we get a theoretical max of 51 grains.
I intend to try RL15 and approach from 10% below. Haven't tried it yet since I just got dies on sale from Midway. I'm using 8x57 brass.

Hope this helps.

Load data is unavailable, and is probably unsafe, plus brass can't be reformed for it...so I'll generously offer to take it off your hands... grin.

Could you please please please post some pics for me to drool over, at least, if you won't sell it to me... smile?

What a wonderful find...

And I suspect you could start with 9.3x57 loads for 232/270/286 gr bullets and work from there, too. Dieter Sturm wrote an article some years ago in Handloader or Rifle about the 9.3x57, and I have some data I can share via PM when I return to AK from my work with my 9.3x57.

Cool rifle...

I was googling the 9.5X57 cartridge and came across this thread. I have a Mauser 9X57 with a badly pitted barrel I was thinking of reboring and rechambering to 9.5X57 (I don't think it would clean up to 9.3X57) and I wondered if you had made any progress with loading for your MS carbine and what you thought of it at this point.

I have a 1908 MS in 9X56 MS, and forming cases for it has not been the easiest process, because of the difference between the Mauser and MS case head sizes. I finally found some Remington .35 Whelen brass with undersize case heads and my problem was solved.

Without checking the books, I am wondering if you could neck up 8x57, 7x57, or make brass out of the 30-06 case??
