Unless he was Chairman Of The Board, which it sounds like he is not, the BOD can always terminate him if he doesn't cooperate and resign. Based on their last line "we wish him all of the best in his future pursuits", it sounds like he is already gone!
Having said that, no doubt he will still hold significant ownership in the company via private stock/shares. The only way to remove him from that position is to buy him out! Doubt he'll agree to that! Not hard to get him out of day-to-day, which it sounds like they have done. Getting him out as a stakeholder is something entirely different. Will be interesting to see how they manage that piece.

As I said before, if you disagree with Dan Coopers position this election, you should keep your money away from Cooper Firearms until Dan is no longer involved with Cooper Firearms in any way ... otherwise, you're still putting money directly in his pockets, and enabling him to continue to use that money to support causes & issues that are against your beliefs ...

Dan's a salesman, especially skilled at selling himself to gun-ignorant investors with money sagging their pockets to their ankles. Each time he's lost the company, he's just persuaded another bunch of Deep Pockets to acquire it and to return him to it. The Energizer bunny should have Dan's recuperative talents!

Like I said, "don't go out and buy a Cooper just yet".
More to come for sure!

Dan Cooper and two other people started the Cooper Firearms company in 1990. Since it has his name on it you have to assume he has a large ownership interest. It says that he is being asked to leave as president but the company also listed him as the CEO. I'll bet that he's still on the board of directors.

What's the big deal?
He just gave some money to another American citizen that just happens to have alternative ideas about guns. That's not so bad.
It wasn't that long ago and another famous person made a comment about assault rifles, and who should own them. I recall quite a few people on this website saying forgive and forget.
I believe it is best to forgive, but I can't forget. I don't read or watch anything Jim Zumbo, you can rest assured I will never own anything Cooper.

Wow what a betrayal. I went to the FEC site: http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/fecimg/query.html to check on what he's really done. Dan Cooper comes up a couple of times. Donated 2100 bucks to Barack in January 2007. Early adopter, fer shure. Then there was another grand in Feb of 2008. He also donated to John Morrison, Dem senate against Conrad Burns, actually got beat by himself and his peepee, not Tester. Anyway, gave 2,100 to Morrison. Then, as Daniel Lyddell Cooper, it turns out Dan forked over a thousand bucks to Obama back in 2004! Wow! Change! Socialism! Right there, I lose all respect for Dan Cooper, and I had quite a bit for his grit and his company. Now, if you buy a Cooper and Daniel is still a shareholder, never mind a director, you get to subsidize his politics. Never mind all those varminters these guys sell. What will a PD listing under the ESA mean to Cooper sales? Et cetera? Amazing. Dan Stupor, meet Jim Dumbo.

So what kind of Golden Parachute did Dan get today...That seems to be the theme dujour these days. Wonder if he'll go to work for AIG now as CEO?
Lastly, anyone want to take a guess on how many orders were cancelled today at Cooper? Never have I seen a website rebuke and double-take as fast as that DocumentRoot has.

Removing him from the board of directors really doesn't solve the root problem that if you buy a Cooper firearm some of that profit goes to Dan Cooper and thus to people like Obama. +1 I'd have to KNOW he wasn't going to to get one RED cent before I'd ever consider a Cooper rifle.....
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

It's a privatly held company. I wonder who the other members of the "Board of directors" are? I wonder how many he's related to... Even if thrown out on his ear I'm guessing he's majority stake holder or his name wouldn't be on the company. This is what we got today!

Just because you are removed from the board of directors of a company doesn't equal a golden parachute. There's no reason to not belive he's still not getting just as much money from Cooper as before. He's just no longer head of the "Board of directors". He's still probably majority stake holder, still partakes of profits (Lol like they'll have any now), etc....name is still on the company charter etc... It's like getting fired but keep getting paid.

(I wrote that off and put it out of my mind years ago.)

Cooper might be out on his fanny simply on grounds of negligence. His actions, once disclosed to his customer base, may have destroyed the value of the company. Furthermore, it could be argued that the value of the company might be damaged by Obama's election, or the RISK of Obama? For example that might be provable given the experience of the Thompson group of Brits when they bought S and W. Lawyers, what say you? Can a case be made?

I'll be sending them another letter stating that I'll only consider doing business with them under two conditions:
1) Dan Cooper no longer has any financial interest in the company, whatsoever
and
2)Cooper's name is removed from the name of the company

"Resign as President" does not mean the same thing as SEVER ALL TIES - which is what is required. So long as Dan Cooper remains involved with Cooper Firearms and reaps monetary benefit from the sale of it's products, 2nd Amendment supporters are not going to be satisfied.

Holdin' off of that purchase. I agree, the "Board of Directors" is probably family that puts the money back in Coop's pockets.
There's a lot of reasons for my skepticism of the company structure and my disdain for Dan Cooper, but people that don't pay their bills just suck big time in my book. Given his ease of throwing out a stupid lie about reasons for supporting Obama and his "support" of McCain's campaign, I can understand that he'd have no issues with being a deadbeat too.
Gotta go back to one of my beliefs...life's too short to support A-holes, there's too many good people that can use the business. I'll look elsewhere.

folks they make fine rifles and while I'd never buy a new one, and never had but the used one are a pretty good deal and no money ends up in Coopers pocket.
