my b-i-l has a Savsge 99, 75th anniversary , in the Win. 308

he is not satisfied with the crown.

he's a skilled machinist, has a few lathes, but doesn't want to remove the barrel to re-crown it. doesn't have head space gages.

can a 99 be re-crowned in a lathe, with out removing the barrel ?

thanks

Gene
