I try to clean my squirrels very shortly after shooting them. I carry most everything I need. My main problem is that some of the hair will get on the body and as most of you know, it is a problem to get off. How do you get the hair off the body when you are cleaning? At least how do you do it when you are back at camp or home for the final "cleaning" before freezing?

I just freeze it with the hair on, then take it off before cooking, after thawing.

Whichever, under running water, scrape it off with a knife, blade held 90* to the squirrel so you don't cut it.

Alternatively, you can scorch it off if you have access to a fire. Just rinse well afterward.

just pick it off when doing the final rinse before fixing to cook or freeze

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Just before cleaning dip your squirrel in water completely covering it for a few seconds. Problem solved, no more stray hair on the meat while cleaning and handling. I always clean near a fresh, clear running creek or spring.

After I posted the question I thought "well you dummy... just Google it and see what comes up" so I did. Found out about a number of ways to do it. Just so you will know what I did I just posted on Google... "squirrel hair cleaning" and found out a lot of good ideas.

Thanks for all the ones that you guys have given me.
