My .243 is silly accurate with Hornady 100gr and TSX 85grain. Almost one hole groups with 3 shots.
Camp is where you make it.

TZ,
Is your stainless/syn or blue/wood? Have you done anything to it? free float? bed? trigger?
Are you using it this w/e for the cheesehead opener?

I have a Hawkeye in .257 Roberts, blue/walnut, with Hornaday factory 117grs, shosts cloverleaf 3 shot, 5 shot, little bigger then a quarter.
I have done nothing but, mount the scope. It just flat out shoots!

I had a 30-06 in the synthetic stainless for just a little while. Shot Fed. 180gr. Noslers about 1 1/4" with no tweaking and the factory trigger.

I'm glad to hear this. Since Ruger started making their own barrels things have really come around. The new Hawkeyes seem to be an excellent CRF rifles.

I have several Hawkeyes. The following are stainless models mounted in Hogue Overmolded Stocks with the full alumninum bed. The targets of the 338 Federal shown here are in the factory tupperware stock. Recent range tests have shown that with the Hogue stock the accuracy is just as good as with the tupperware stock. 338 Federal 45.0 grs. H-4895 Sierra Gameking 338 Federal 45.0 grs. H-4895 180 gr. Nosler Accubond 358 Win. 48.0 grs. H-4895 200 gr. Hornady Spire Point

I have a 308 all weather, it will shoot dime size groups with anything loaded with RL15 or IMR 4064. My rifle is stock and the trigger is very good compared to the MarkII.

My hawkeye 257 Bob was a 1 1/2- 1 1/4 rifle with good loads. I bedded and floated and now its a 3/4" rifle with the loads it likes. Still can be picky, but is consistent with the loads it likes.

My Hawkeye is in 358 Winchester. It shoots a variety of bullet weights sub-MOA (225 grain Nosler Partition, 225 grain TSX, 250 grain Speer, 200 grain TSX, 225 grain Sierra SP). I'm glad I bought it. I have a 358 BLR that shoots almost as good, but the Hawkeye is just a tad more accurate.
Where did you say we are going? And why are we in this handbasket?

I bought up a 7mm-08 All Weather Hawkeye last year for my son. Here's what it does with 120 gr. ballistic tips (no modifications of any kind made to the rifle):
