Hi, I make custom turkey calls. I also make custom locator calls such as owl hooters and crow calls. I'm new to the forum and thought I would share some pics of some of my calls. If interested just pm me or send me an email. I'll post more at a later date. Thanks for looking and God bless.

This first call is a magnolia with a slate surface and some decorative checkering on the side.

This next call is a black palm with a copper surface and glass sound board.

This is a camphor burl and copper.

This is a set that I made for a guy on another forum. It is a figured walnut glass with a little turkey in it, a double dyed box elder burl and padouk owl hooter and a east asian rosewood crow call. The owl hooter has an aluminum band with mosaic pins.

This is a set that I made and donated to a NWTF chapter. I made them both from purple heart. The turkey call is slate and the other is an owl hooter.

They look really nice. Unfortunately I have a personal policy that I ONLY use calls that I made myself- if not for my policy, Id be all over yours. Nice work.

Mose- I make a few different kinds. I make a slate call, though mine are square ("round" is not part of my shop skills yet).
I also make paddle type, wing bone, and another "scratch" type. Basically, a wood box without a top, use a striker to touch the lip of the box. Believe it or not, the best wood I use for this call is spanish cedar. I use old cigar boxes. I then use a striker made of various materials, it seems poplar and red oak work the best. I have tried other wood for the call, but the ones made of cigar boxes work the best.

while these are not as ornate as the ones at the top of this post, this next dbl sided call by a guy here in Missouri is one of my favorites. a glass surface with a slate sound board. he opens the center hole up on the underside and you have an area to use the slate just by turning over the call. exelent sound out of both sides.
