Tie everything of value to you or your pack. Binocs on a crooked horn strap, rangefinder in a belt pouch with a bungee from unit to pack, GPS same as rangefinder, etc. - all self contained. Never set ANYTHING down and always police the area prior to moving. I carry 12 hr. lightsticks in my pack so that if I need to leave my pack or a downed animal near last light I can tape a stick to them and see them from long distance in the dark. I have a little OCD when it comes to losing anything, drives me absolutely crazy until I find it. Learned the previous system in the Army and it has served me well while hunting.

I've seen some rangefinders (Newcon, I believe) that can be had in yellow. I like rangers idea of everything tied on to something big though.

Damn, you guys are scareing me. I think my Leica LRF is still in my fanny pack. Will definitely check when I get back to the house.
The older I get, the easier it is to lose gear.

That ain't all you're going to lose as you get older....
The only true cost of having a dog is its death.
