I picked up a cute little Stevens Crackshot the other day as part of another deal of crowbars.
I know the .22's are still fairly common but how often does one run across a 25 Stevens?
From what I've been told they also chambered a 32 RF and somewhere in the pile I'm pretty sure I've got a few rounds of ammo for both.

I like it here. They let me swear.

The 25 Stevens was a pretty popular barn/farm/ranch cartridge before WW2. I think that Old Western Scrounger, www.ows-ammo.com, used to carry it. I have been told that before WW2, you could buy a CF breech-block and barrel for some (all?) of the Stevens falling block actions in 25 Stevens and convert them to 25-20.

I've got a shell here in my shell collection called a 25-25 Stevens but I've never run across a gun chambered for it yet. Long sucker, about 2" high and straight walled.

There was also a later .25-21 Stevens. You can (or could) get a TC Contender barrel so chambered and Bertram brass and get some very good velocities from the .25-25 and 86 gr. bullets.

Hobie

I've got 1/2 of a old box of UMC 25 Stevens RF. Bought them at a show when I had a Stevens 44 1/2 chambered for it. Three duds and I gave up on them. Primer had deteriorated.

Had another 44 1/2 chambered for the 25 Stevens SS. Has to be the same cart as MD has. Have a couple of carts for that layin' around here.
