Nice looking guns...Is the model 88 a carbine or does it just have a barrel band for the front sling stud? Caliber?

Local store has one of those barrel band 88's in 284.. price is something around $3000 I think? Way up there, anyway.

Nice, honest 99.. though that front sight don't look right.

I had a M-100 barrel band carbine in .284 that I let go before someone decided they were worth pails full of money.
Dang near cryed when I found out what the going price is for one these days.
That's an original .308 cal M-88 carbine which isnt near as rare as a .284 but still kind of cute.
