I recently picked up my first pair of Schnees hunter II pac boots and absolutely love them. I did notice that the wet snow penetrated the leather uppers.
Before I wore them outside, I used the plasti-seam sealer for the stitching and used the Schnees brand leather paste. I only applied one coat. Should I do another?
I've since picked up some Montana Pitch paste. I would think they will work together if I switch??
Thanks in advance

I used the montana pitch on mine but did two coats. I put the first one on and heated it up with a hair dryer then applied the second. Mine are totally water proof. I did the same with the schnees leather conditioner on my bozeman boots with two coat and they are water proof as well.
I dont see any issue using the two together but you may want to call schnees.

A lot of people swear by plain beeswax. I haven't tried it yet, but I have a couple blocks just waiting until I stop procrastinating. There are probably some posts on the boards here desctribing how to use it.

Pure beeswax does the trick, use a heatgun to apply it. The caveat is, you need to apply it to virgin leather. Once you've put other products on, the leather won't be able to completely soak in the beeswax.

That obenhauf's is good stuff. It's also what I use for neck lube when sizing .308 brass up to .358. I got it at the Redwing store locally.
