I have a .22 Savage bolt action, and the feeding from the 10 round clip that came with it sux. Sometimes you have to slam a round into the chamber, and sometimes it hangs up so badly that the round bends. The clip is pretty cheaply made and tinney. Am I the only one, or is this the way they build them. I previously had a CZ, and the worst mistake I made was not to buy another CZ.
Any ideas how to fix would be welcome.

Update, I have now tried two 10 shot and two 5 shot mags. The 5 shots work...the 10 shots DON'T

It's the magazine.
If the first round or two lodge against the top of the receiver and rounds farther down in the stack feed OK, then the problem is that the round is coming off the clip with its nose pointed too high. This can often be fixed by SLIGHTLY spreading the lips of the magazine at the rear.
Or try a different magazine, and send the defective ones back.
The good news is that if you can get it to feed properly, it is likely to be a very accurate rifle.
Be patient.
This is a very common magazine defect.

I've owned nothing but Savage rifles for 10 years and have yet to own one that doesn't shot well or jam/malfunction even once. I guess all the military and law enforcement agencies that rutinely buy Savage rifles are just morons. No disrespect intended but when you make a blanket statement like that, it seems you are just looking for an argument.
