Go with some sort of 2 piece base. I've had Weavers on mine since sometime in the 80's. I had a one piece Leupold base but it cramps the loading area, plus you can't stick your thumb between the scope and action when carrying it one handed.

I have a 2 piece Weaver system and it works great. The gun is a tack driver w/ 250 gr SPs.

I use a one piece Redfield on my 99-375 and a 2 piece Redfield on my 358 99R.
Actually, now that I think about it all my guns are wearing Redfield one piece mounts except the 358.

Weaver 2 piece bases work fine on my 358 Timber Rifle. They aren't real pretty but I put Millet rings on them and they are very solid.
