Checking in.
I've had one for many years, and just recently I have acquired some more. Looking for that nice one to reign over the common rats.......

Wishing ALL a Happy New Year!

I found my way here through the (other) Levergun forum this summer...just wanted to learn how to tighten up the groups with my .300 EG... NOW I caught the bug from all y'all, and my win94 never even saw daylight this year...matter of fact, it got pushed back to make room for more 99s!!

Thanks for all the GREAT info and comraderie!

Happy 2009 to all!
Been reading site for 6 months or so, after Steve B put me onto it. Had hoped to meet some of you at 2008 Savage fest in Mercer, WI, my home town now, but life doesn't always go as planned. Maybe in 2009?
The first deer gun I ever saw was my dad's 99 and eventually decided I needed one (or more then 1...). While acquiring 99s found more then a few other Savages I needed, too. So about 14 99s and 40 "others".
Learning a lot from this forum! THANKS!

Let me wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR too. I joined the group here just last August and the conversation certainly is good. My interest in the Savage 99s goes back to the '50s and my first 99 was an EG model in .250/3000. I've still got that rifle but others have been added to the rack. My real favorite is the .303 Savage and I've done a lot with rifles chambered for that good round. There's still more to do as well. .303Mike

Happy New Year from Raleigh, North Carolina, land of very few 99's.

Been around a couple of years and learned a bunch.

Missed a doe with my 1899B that I fired for the first time today after having it restored. Time to head to the range!

Hey Y'All: Stayed home last night, got up this mornin w/a clear head, money still in my wallet, and No court summons for O.U.I. Pray 2009 will be alot better in 99's. On 12/30, I saw & tried to buy a 99A, 25-35, 26"bbl, crescent butt, from a retired fellow who paid $120.00 a few yrs ago. Price tag still on the lever. Wasn't interested now in selling, maybe tradin later... sometime... down the road... doesn't know when... Oh Boy

Thought I could of ended the year on a decent buy... 99 LL ...

Lurker here. I'm a Ruger guy and I collect Flatbolt 77s and No.1s. Been cogitating on buying a 99 to give it a try.

Below zero here in AK.

Hope everyone has a happy and prosperous New Year.

A great site. Thanks to all for the help.

Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.
