Geez Scott - I expected better of you. Budweiser????? Don't they have real beer down there? If you crop the bottle out- that's a damned nice picture! Pretty fish - I like the look of grey, weathered wood and the two compliment each other.

Weren't mine, it was the girl I was with.
Had a discussion today about the cheap beer that many of Cajuns drink around here. The Cajun told me that you would buy cheap if you drank the volume they did.

Waiting to get into a big bull red soon. They can get well into the 40's. But I'll take something 15 to 20 pounds. Lost one that was at least 10, took me into the oysters. Speaking of oysters and warmth...

liable to get cold according to the News Minus -60 by Friday..... I may have to let one of my Newfoundland dogs climb in bed!
The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

I lived in Two Rivers, outside of Faribanks for three years.
We had a generator inside of the house to keep it warm for when the power would go out. Then we'd hook it up and just keep the lights and fans going, stoke up the fire/stove, and enjoy the fact that work closed and nobody ever came out to see us when it was that cold....
The coldest I ever saw it was a day of -61 degrees back in 1989 or 90. That was cold!

I missed it as I was in Hawaii, with a gorgeous Indian princess.
evidently my timing was better in those days. (grin)

I went to survival school in early november 1989, thinking I would cheat and not get too cold.
HUH! it was -42 the whole time we were out. Its really beautiful when its really cold, but one mistake and you could wake up dead.

I think you guys are forgetting 2 things. 1. New Years eve of 2000. I had to go to work that night - like at 11 P.M New Years Eve. It was about -55 as I recall here in ol' Fairtown and it stayed cold for sometime afterwords. 2, And perhaps even more importantly. We need a good cold snap every so often to help keep out all of the "riff-raff" that are "wannabe Alaskans". Just thoughts to ponder on these short, cold days. Geez, I got way too much free time. Ya'll stay warm now. Bear in Fairbanks

"We need a good cold snap every so often to help keep out all of the "riff-raff" that are "wannabe Alaskans"." Wish it would work, unfortunately most of the wannabes live in Anchorage and have heated gerages to park their Escalades. Seems like real Alaskana are often poorer and are the only ones who actually suffer from the cold. Fortunately our winters of it being 20F inside are over, we may not be in our own place anymore but atleast the kids are warm.
