I am about out of 12 gauge bismuth shells. They worked really well for ducks in my shotguns. I know Bismuth Cartridge Company went bankrupt. Are they going to come back or did someone buy them out or what? Does heavi-shot work as well and is it as easy on your barrels as bismuth? Bimuth was enviromentally benign, are tungstun based shots equally benign? Thanks KDJ

Thanks for the info. I checked them out at cablelas, a little pricey. Might have to break down and buy some anyway. KDJ

Bismuth is available again after a span. I know that Mack's PW sells it.

Regular Hevi-shot is NOT safe for older guns. Hevi-shot "classic doubles" is ok for guns that are not approved for steel.

ALL of the good non-tox, non-steel shells are pricey!

Has anybody heard if they plan on selling loose Bismuth shot for reloading? I had to switch to Nice Shot -now that's pricey ($60/kilo), but darned effective.

Has anyone actually bought and tried ITX from BP? I might sometime. I just have a gripe with them for not providing loading data for any components other than their own proprietary stuff.

Pinnacle is looking to bring Bismuth back out as a reloading component in late 2009. We'll have to wait and see if it really happens.
