Man Who Killed Armed Intruder Jailed Eight Years

A man who stabbed to death an armed intruder at his home was jailed for eight years today.
Carl Lindsay, 25, answered a knock at his door in Salford, Greater Manchester, to find four men armed with a gun.
When the gang tried to rob him he grabbed a samurai sword and stabbed one of them, 37-year-old Stephen Swindells, four times.
Mr Swindells, of Salford, was later found collapsed in an alley and died in hospital.
Lindsay, of Walkden, was found guilty of manslaughter following a three-week trial at Manchester Crown Court.
He was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.
After the case, Detective Chief Inspector Sam Haworth said: “Four men, including the victim, had set out purposefully to rob Carl Lindsay and this intent ultimately led to Stephen Swindells’ death.
“I believe the sentences passed today reflect the severity of the circumstances.”
Three other men were charged with robbery and firearms offences in connection with the incident, which took place in February last year.

IMO, the judgement by the court against Mr. Carl Lindsey is a criminal act in itself, of the highest degree. I can't imagine having to serve eight years for defending your self and family from four armed intruders. I guess there is no such thing as justifiable self defense in England anymore. I suppose poor Mr. Linsay was obligated to let them rob and, if they chose, kill him.

Three days ago a lady in Springfield Ohio heard someone breaking into her house she got up and got one of her boys 40 cal pistol. They tried to push her bedroom door in. She shot through the door, they fired back. She heard them go in another bedroom. She come out and made her retreat down the steps firing in thier direction and run to house next door to call 911. They found one dead gut shot and found the other one who is now facing murder charges. There will be no charges against the lady. In the same town a few years ago a pitt bull got a guy by his leg, he managed to drag the dog to his truck and got his pistol and killed the dog. He was charged with weapons charges including discharging firearm in city limits. Kenny

Coming to the good old US of A one of these days! Its foot is already in the door. In this valley a few years back, a man got some bars time for killing a dog that was killing his chickens. Yet the Ravalli County sheriff's office has never carried a murder case through to a conviction. If you want to kill a friend or relative, do it here. But don't shoot a Californicator's dog for any reason.
