Still here in Delaware. Bought my 1899 in March of "07" from a guy that would only sell me a shotgun I wanted if I also bought "this worthless lever action Savage in some caliber called 250-3000". Wow I've learned a lot since then from the guys here. Great site, Rick. Happy New year to all. Tom

I still wonder through occasionally. Hello to all and a happy new year.

Dont' post much on this forum, but check it out regularly-I've got a ratty EG .300 that has taken a few deer and a field lion, can count on one hand the number of 99's I've seen in shops here in SWMO/SEKS.

Here a little on and off - looked for 15 years to find a 250. Got an EG from 54 almost pristine. Only had to trade a Kimber bolt for it. I have apologized to the guy.

I have seen 54 EGs ranging from 728xxx to 765xxx but don't know how far beyond that they go.
I do know from checking a couple of 555xxx and 558xxx models lately that they are in the 1950 year. Don't know if production was even between the years. I think from the little bit of reading I have done here that some here have a good idea of the production ranges.

I'm still around. Not a Savage collecter but a big fan of the Model 99. I still hunt with my dad's old 99R.

I have been in and out the past year. Still love levers and revolvers, but only have two savages. A 99E in .308 and a 1917 pistol in .32 acp. I do have a Stevens High Power and am looking for a 99 in 250. Cheers from KY. Dave
