Any unusual marks on the fired casings(scratches, gouges, etc.)? Do unfired cartridges chamber with any resistance? Will the fired casings rechamber with no problems?

Don't know if this applies to rifles or not, but I once had a new Ithica Model 37 Deluxe that would do that. Told by a gunsmith that machining grooves left in the chamber from manufacture will cause the brass, upon expansion, to grab them and stick. It required polishing to solve the problem.
Could show up on the brass, if this were the case.
FWIW.

unfires cartridges chamber.. going to check to see if fired cartridges will chamber.. looks like some swelling in front of the belt... but not much...no other marks on brass...checked for cracks and powder burns on brass as well...

As you I am sure well aware of, the 264 winchester requires a smaller diameter bullet just in front of the case, it rides on the rifling to keep the bullet aligned during firing and keeps the pressure down without freeboring the chamber. If this was not allowed for by the rifle or/and ammo builder it can cause enough pressure to have stickie cases. it is a problem that reloaders have to be careful with.. I have had so much problem with nosler ammo being overloaded that if I must buy some I pull the bullets dump the powder, and re charge them.

thats kind of what i was thinking... don't claim to be a gun nut... but if owning a bunch of guns makes me a nut .. then i am... i figured nosler would have their ammo top notch.. the action is smooth out of the box... bolt falls open empty or loaded.. just after firing it sticks .. you can bump it with your hand and it opens.. no real marks on the brass... also figured that a brand new 700 cdl ss could stand what ever you thru at it...but for $55 a box you'd think the ammo would be top notch also..

The last m700 I bought, about 9 months ago, had a burr at the mouth of the chamber that caused difficult extraction or even stuck cases with relatively mild loads.
I was able to clean it up with a brass brush and some elbow grease.
Just FYI...

Just FYI... That's what I was thinking, some sort of machining flaw in the chamber, right from the get go. It takes surprisingly very little for the brass to grab when it expands at firing. I'd try another breed of ammo in it and see if it does the same thing. If so, I'd take it to a good smith and have the chamber checked out. He'll be able to correct it easy enough.

I had trouble with the last three boxas of norma ammo I bought . 1=6.5x55 2=7.65x54 russian 3=6.5 carcano Non of these were Hi performance cartridges but the all made the bolt hard to open and the russian had to be hit with a mallet to unlock it.I reduced the load with new powder and diden't have any more trouble . I only measured the powder charge that was in the 6.5x55 sweadish ammo and it was a full 10% above any max loads I could find in my reloader manuals , I used the same powder at a 10 %reduction and it was fine. I have no Idea what powder they used but felt it would be ok.

I would ck to see if all the ammo is from the same lot. If different, try a few rounds of a different lot and see if the problem persists. You could also buy a different brand of ammo and try that. With no obvious markings on the cases, I would suspect you may have some hot loads!

If it's new, sounds like it is, why not call Remington? A friend had a warranty problem, about 1-1/2 years ago now, and Remington fixed it and quickly. If it's something peculiar about Noslers, I expect Remington would know.

I have 264 that stuck cases when new. Actually first firing was OK but reloads stuck. It was caused by burrs on the back edge of the chamber. Smoke a fired case and chamber it and look for marks.

I talked with my gunsmith buddy the other day and he was telling me that he has been seeing alot of 700s that the finishing reamer is only going in 85% of the way into the chamber, causing a rough spot in the chamber around where the shoulder starts. Sounds like the same problem he was describing.
