A friend gave me some 25-year old 200gr LSWCs for the ACP. Most of them have (what- lead oxide?) to one degree or another, though we're not talking old Spanish shipwreck encrustation.
Do I care?

I'd shoot them, but I'd start slow and watch for lazy ejection or any signs that the powder had deterioated. If you see anything like that, then scrap them.

If they work I would shoot them.

Sorry- bullets for loading, not complete cartridges.

Since they're lubed, I don't want to toss them in my tumbler.

I've got some .357 caliber target wadcutters nearly that old laying around. I wouldn't hesitate to load them up and shoot them.

Age per se is not my concern (I'm too old for that!).

I'm wondering about excessive leading of the barrel or too much gummy dust in the works or gritty friction in the bore or or or...

Shouldn't be a problem. Not with that few bullets. Load them up and shoot them.

I've used old bullets that appeared similar, but in that instance it turned out to be the bullet lube that was 'frosty' looking and not oxidation. Doubt it would be a problem either way.

I would suggest that you check the lube and be sure it has not dried out.If they were stored in open air,the lube may have harded too much and not do it's job.

Isn't lead oxide a crystalline material that is harder than lead? Seems I read somewhere that it can cause excessive wear on the barrel, but that could have been an internet myth. Right?

Tumble them, won't hurt a thing. Or just wipe em off with a soft rag.

load 3 and shoot em

check the barrel for leading, if no, load and shoot the rest.

if yes

get a mob and put some chorboy strands on it and "wipe" the leading out with it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

You can just wipe the lead down with something like Ballistol or a light mineral oil and give it a short time to work. Then the lead will be just fine when you wipe the oil off. Old .22 rimfire ammo will do the same thing and that is the key to having it back in action.

I suggest you send them to me. I will shoot big Jackrabbits with them and see if the rabbits are excessively leaded!
