Is an enormous amount of money and support out there from sportsmen! If one was serious about running for office, had the education, background and a good plan/ideas, they could gain tremendous support from us. Get the word out on the major hunting/outdoor forums, even contributions and the backing from firearm/sportsmen/outdoor organizations.

Sportsmen for a sportsman, is a lot of potential there.

If he fails, so does the country. Oh... that's been happening for the past eight years! Too bad people can't be big enough to hope he does well for the sake of everyone else.

Define success and failure would you..........

If his policies are 180 degrees from mine, why in the world would I support his success?

Pro less taxation
Pro free markets
Pro smaller goverment
Last but not least, I'm Pro American.

Read some of the other threads here, he's already started the moves against us - AWB, purchase limits, gun shows, etc.. I don't hate him because he's black, white or oreo, he's a marxist empty suit that got elected by the MSM! He told them what they wanted to hear and they voted him in.. Now they'll have to live with it.. I'm tired of helping everyone else! Let them get off their collective asses and work for a living like the rest of us! That more than anything else will help this country! Reducing the dead weight and the welfare roles!

Well, I actually do understand civics and citizenship pretty easily. Fact is, just like any other criminal, he's innocent until proven guilty. It's quite a shame though that the POTUS cannot even prove he was born here.

I'm for all those things you mentioned as well, but I'm certainly against things like giving huge corporations breaks instead of working individuals like you, me and others on the board. There are a lot of things I dislike about Obama, but in the end I think he is better for the country which is why I voted for him. Issues like firearms will come into play, but we have organizations that will fight for our gun rights. I'd rather give to them than to Exxon.

I'm tired of our guns being constantly threatened, but I'm more tired of closed door Republican deals that sell off our public lands - hunting land, to private investors.

A vast number of small businesses are incorporated, just like me. Nobody seems to think about that, unless they are a small business.

Bush gave us tax breaks, HSA health plans, and right-offs for new equipment to develop and improve our businesses, but you won't hear that from the MSM.
You also won't hear them talk about the thousands of dollars that working class Americans received in tax rebates either.

Like it or not, he IS the President. I don't like him, and I think that he is a leftist fraud. I also think he wasn't born here, and can't be the President. But until that works it's way out one way or the other, he is the President. I'm not going to go out of my way to torpedo him. Not yet. He still has a chance to be a good one. For all his sucking up to the far left, he seems to be staying pretty damned close to the center at this point. Time will tell if he is the screw up we all fear he will be, or if he tables his partisan garbage and becomes a President that we can be proud of. He won the election, so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt until he actually does something. Besides, we survived Carter. That is saying a hell of a lot.

Tony, I am the OP.

I have been "involved" for 20 years now, making my living putting myself in harms way to protect me fellow countrymen during my time in the military, in law enforcement and as a contractor. I have bled for my country and probably will again. I have metal body parts and cadaver parts in me all due to being involved.

In fact, I am 38 years old and have to wear a damned hearing aid on one side to hear a conversation in a crowd due to getting the crap blown out of me more than once defending our soil from the enemy. My head never stops ringing.

To the rest of you, sorry for getting on my high horse. Being "involved" I am privileged to see things that would change a lot of opinions about a lot of our politics.

The CIA, while very far from perfect has some super hard core ultra patriots working in the field. They usually are hampered by administration, not by skill, ability or opportunity.

It is the same with other govt organizations, DOS and DOD both have operators in the field, contract or otherwise who are super patriotic and are willing to put themselves in harms way in a heartbeat to accomplish their goals of making America safer.

Unfortunately as you move up the food chain in the governmental organizations, the playing field and what is at stake quickly takes a distant back seat and becomes low priority over self advancement. Sadly domestic law enforcement is the same way.

So Tony, are you ready to step up? Ready to say goodbye to the family and watch your children grow up through pictures as you risk it all to make us stronger and safer? I very much regret not being home every night to be a better father. I saddens me beyond words.

Mackay....thanks for your service. May Dad served in Korea and Vietnam. Wars seen to skip generations and it did mine. Both my sons have served in combat in the Navy and Marines during the last go round over there. Keep your butt safe and make it home for your kids! You have every right to be vocal. I haven't had the opportunity to do what you do. I am too old now, but know I support what you and my sons do. My oldest is headed back over in April.....4th time now. I thank you for your public service, sincerely. I didn't like what was going on, so I voted the other way.

And I had my packet all put together and ready to drop for an aviation branch Warrant Officer in the Army. I think about it every day and want to go through with it and hopefully get accepted, but put that dream aside for the sake of my family, for their wishes and not my own. Had a competitive packet too with references from other high ranking WOs. Should my family change their mind, I'd update and submit it in a second.


Grandfather was in the Air Force. Dad spent six years in the Navy. His father was a 26 year officer and among other things, was awareded the Silver Star. I think about it daily.
