Let me attach a rider to Conyer's bill:
Union Soldiers Reparations Act
Any living person, or decendants of any and all who served in the Union Army from 1861-1866, having shed their blood, sweat, and tears for the cause of preserving the Union and ending slavery, shall be reimbursed for the sacarifice they have made. Those freed from the bonds of slavery and their progeny shall honor these soldiers and all of their decendants. From the decendants of those freed, taxes shall be collected for the Union Soldiers Reparations Act and distributed to those that qualify under the aforementioned Act.
See how Conyers likes that friendly amendment!
Works for me. Had a Great-grandfather that got injuried so bad at Gettysburg he never worked again. Just something about that blue suit that the guys in the gray suits didn't like. By the way, he was a German immigrant not a Yankee.

I hear on the German, man.
My Great Uncle, Heimen Breaker, is a good example.

I wonder if a one way ticket back to the old country would be in the settlement package. +1
The only thing wrong with the 270....Its not a 25-06.

My Great Uncle, Heimen Breaker, is a good example. I have on the wall behind me my great grandfather's discharge papers from the Union Army after the War of Southern Ambition. He, and many other fine German immigrants, kicked the Rebels' azzes and restored the Union. It might have been a mistake to do so, however... ...given recent events.

My folks got here in 1926. I don't owe a DAMNED thing. In fact, if they've been here and free since 1864, they owe me reparations I would think.

last time I looked it up, there were more dead yankees than rebs. I agree with you to some extent though, restoring the Union was a mistake.
